La Clave is back!
Hola amigos and welcome! La Clave Fest 2017 – a festival celebrating the Latin community in London – is back on Saturday June 17. Latino Life is incredibly excited to be hosting another colourful and inclusive community event in the heart of Crouch End in north London. With the backing of the London Mayor and some exciting collaborations, this summer festival will be bigger and better than last year’s – and almost all the events are free. So who are we? Latino Life is the UK’

Latin fusion pop-up at La Clave
We are very excited to have Esnayder Cuartas (pictured) on board at La Clave Fest to create three special menus on three consecutive days, starting on Friday 16 June and going through to Sunday brunch on 18 June. Cuartas is no ordinary chef. He's the food and drinks entrepreneur behind Sabor, a company that can cater and execute imaginative events with a Latin American flavour. A Colombian with over 20 years in the hospitality business, Cuartas successfully ran a restaurant i

Futsal tournament in the town hall
Back by popular demand, after last year’s huge success, is a Futsal tournament in Hornsey Town Hall's main theatre. Anglo-Chilean football coach Ben Corbyn organises London’s only Futsal Copa America as part of our line-up at La Clave Fest, taking place on June 17.
Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced, small-sided football game that is widely played across Latin America. The origin of Futsal, or five-a-side soccer as its known in the United States, can be traced to Montevideo,

Latin fiesta meets Art Deco splendour
We think one of the things that makes our Latin-themed festival special is the setting. Taking place on June 17, La Clave Fest will have its main stage outside the Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre in Crouch End, with its pretty square and fountain making it feel welcoming and European. But there will also be special workshops, events and film screenings taking place inside the impressive building that still retains many of its original features, including an Ashton marble stairc

Community outreach
Okay, so we realize that talking about outreach sounds a bit worthy, but we are truly passionate about Latin culture in all its diversity. Part of that means showcasing our amazing artists to people who might never choose to go to a Latin event, and it’s also the reason why we send inspiring Latinos into schools to educate children about our amazing cultures and arts. 2016
In 2016 we recruited Fadi, one of the UK’s leading salsa teachers, to teach the children of Coleridg

Royal Ballet dancer visits Crouch End
No one knows more about defying the odds than Fernando Montano. The Royal Ballet dancer is the first Colombian to ever reach the rank of soloist with the prestigious company. This achievement is even more impressive when you learn that he was born in poverty, lived in a slum and had to leave his home at the age of 14 to train in Cuba. He came to Crouch End to speak to a group of children from Coleridge Primary School. He urged them to work hard to achieve their dreams: 'It do

How to make an empanada
There are few things more Latin than an empanada and we will be showcasing this snacky street food at La Clave Fest - our Latin summer festival in Crouch End - this Saturday, June 17. For those who don't know, the empanada is a stuffed bread or pastry that has been baked or fried. It comes from the Spanish verb 'empanar', which means to wrap or coat in bread. Esnayder Cuartas, the chef behind our fine dining pop-up at our festival, tells us that they were first introduced in
