Headline Act: Rene Alvarez and his Cuban Combination
Led by Cuban born Rene Alvarez, who is musical director, arranger, producer and singer, this 18 piece band is without a doubt one of Europe’s most explosive salsa bands. Voted Best Tropical Act at The LUKAS 2018, it contains Europe’s finest Latin musicians.
Angelica Lopez y su banda
This talented Cartagena-born singer won over both audiences and judges to become the LUKAS’s first ever female Vocalist of the Year in 2018. Her band, Papayera, is considered one of Europe’s most unique Colombian folk acts.

La Raza: London's Urban Latin Showcase

LUKAS Award winning Latin Hip-hop artist and leading light of London’s young creative Latin community, Mike Kalle curates this popular annual Urban Latin Showcase featuring London’s best young talent. This year's performance includes

Desta French: a talented Colombian from Camden who r accumulated over 1 million plays on Spotify and got extensive radio play in Colombia, released her debut single 'Shame'.

Guala: One of London’s most promising male artists, Guala fuses hip hop, reggaeton, grime, and afrobeats. His song ‘You’re not there,’ the first ever grime song in Spanish, was played on BBC1 Xtra and has over 47k views on GrimeDaily platform. His song ‘Reggaeton’ has over 53k views on YouTube.

Valenciz: a Colombian born Reggaeton artist, who has opened concerts for Pitbull, Arcangel, Jowell & Randy, J Alvarez and Don Omar. His latest singles '’Passion’ , ‘Teaser’ and Spanish trap song ‘Prendido’ are gaining traction amongst Latinos in the UK.
BERDC: representing the new generation of South London Latinos who are making their mark on London’s diverse musical landscape this winner of The LUKAS 2018 for Urban Act has taken London's Latin nightclusb by storm with their catchy tunes and hard hitting lyrics.

Beto Caletti and Mishka Adams

This Latin Jazz duo takes listeners on a journey from the African influenced Baião of northeastern Brazil, down into the earthy beats of Uruguayan candombe, and arriving finally at the dancing rhythms of the chacarera and milonga of Argentina. Their compositions emerge from this melting pot of rhythms, and take the listener on a journey in four diverse languages – Spanish, Portuguese, English, and Tagalog (Filipino) – Mishka's mother tongue.

London Tango Orchestra

This 8 piece orchestra is the largest professional tango group in the country, a real "orquesta tipica" uniting leading UK tango musicians with players from Argentina. The orchestra is the first of its kind in the UK and performs music from the rich repertoire of tango, old and new.

Nina Miranda & Friends
Born in Brazil and raised in London, Nina Miranda is one of the finest examples of Latin London creativity with her fluid fusion of Bossa Nova,Trip hop, Funk, Rock, Folk, Electro, Dub, Punk and Samba. She has played at some of the world’s most famous stages, collaborating with esteemed such as Nitin Sawhney, Bebel Gilberto, Guy Sigsworth, Daniel Jobim, Domenico Lancellotti, Kassin & Moreno Veloso (+2), Baaba Maal, Arto Lindsay and Seu Jorge.

Abraham Carmona & Ignacio Monteverde
Flamenco artist Abraham Carmona (guitar, vocals and bass) is joined by virtuoso guitarist Ignacio Monteverde, who hails from Buenos Aires, in an adventure that goes deep into the heart of the 'Duende', past, present and future. Kat and Eddie
Eddie from Venezuela and Kat from South Africa are proof of the international passion for Salsa. They have established themselves as one of the finest couples on the UK crossbody salsa scene in recent years and continue to push and develop their style, which fuses mambo with afro and rumba. Last year they were voted LUKAS Tropical Dance Performers of the Year

London School of Samba
​
The London School of Samba is the principal reference for Samba in the UK, producing the finest dancers and projecting the experience and emotion of Brazil through carnival performance and preparation. As London's longest established samba school, Over its 40 year history the LSS has trained many generations of drummers and dancers, and inspired thousands of Londoners through Brazilian dance, music and costume. It's no wonder they were voted LUKAS Brazilian Dance Act of the Year 2018.

LUKAS Runners up in the Tropical dance category This London based Latin dance academy specialise in World Latin Dance Cup, UK Elite Dance Championship, Salsa summit and Teesside Festival. As well as competing, the academy performs at a wide variety of local community events and as their reputation has built up they have become role models for aspiring dancers and young people.

Their easy-to-follow routines based on ‘Salsa Choke’ - a popular call-based Salsa dance created on the streets of Colombia – are guaranteed to make even the stiffest bones and immobile bodies itching to join the fun, culminating in a mass dance frenzy with DJs and live percussionists to bring the party to a finale. Fernando KBeson has been one of he most influential Latin DJs in the UK for over 2 decades. Colombian born and London raised, he has shared his passion for salsa music with generations of salsa lovers and is still the reference when it comes to salsa in the UK. A 3 time-LUKAS award winner, testament to his popularity, Fercho has had residencies in some of the most iconic London venues, including the legendary Bar Rumba and is the opening DJ of choice for any top salsa band visiting the capital.
